These are Toucan’s Commitments for 2022

Happy New Year! Yup, it’s already 2022! How did the time go by so fast? 🤯 January is often associated with fresh-out-of-the-oven intentions ✔️ and laser-focused goals 🎯. At Toucan we are no different. So at our first meeting of the year, we shared our intentions and wishes for this upcoming year. Here are a few resolutions we came up with together. Please feel free to make some of these your own.

Community

We want to broaden the sense of community in our personal lives and on Toucan. Bringing people together in a way that values each individual's unique ability to contribute. Make the whole greater than the sum of its parts.

Lasting relationships

It's one thing to meet someone, but it's an entirely different thing to get to know them. We encourage you to *really* get to know as many people as you can!

Empowerment

There are so many forces out there telling you what you can and can't do. Gravitate towards the spaces that give you the freedom to choose. Jump into 2022 with both feet and turn it into the year where you grow stronger and more confident, where you really take charge.

Realness

Being your authentic self, showing up, smiling, and being an active participant draws others to you. We want to make sure that we give everyone the space to be themselves and express themselves in the way that’s most fulfilling to them.

Putting humanity first

It can be so easy to fall into a robotic routine, where we forget the things that we need as human beings. The things we do can be so rote sometimes. Make sure to remember what makes us all human and, in particular, what makes you tick. Take some time to value the excitement, beauty, joy, relationships, and time that you have in your life. Make a conscious decision to break out of that routine every once in a while!

New Year’s resolutions often fall to the wayside. But we are committing to ours. We hope that, in 2022, we get to continue helping you build strong, honest, lively communities. We’re looking forward to a very exciting year!
