Toucan is a post-COVID virtual gatherings platform that makes mingling at an online happy hour as easy as circulating around a physical room or just standing around with a drink and waiting for folks to come to you.

The role

The senior full-stack engineer will report directly to the head of engineering.

Early work will be guided and expose you to as much of our stack as possible.

As quickly as possible you will be given standalone tasks many of which will touch several system layers.

Be prepared to come up with novel solutions to difficult problems, present and defend them.

This role is critical to Toucan's ability to accelerate product development and deployment. These are still early days so your work will have a large impact on the company.

Requirements

• 5 or more years of professional engineering experience
• Growing startup exposure
• Greenfield and refactoring experience
• Familiarity with the full stack including:

- Front ends

- APIS

- Services

- Databases

- QA

- CI/CD

- Basic DevOps

• Expertise on at least one part of the stack
• Familiarity with our stack components a plus

Our stack

Frontend: React, TypeScript, Tixi (homegrown PixiJS-like library using CSS instead of WebGL), and Tailwind CSS.

Backend: NodeJS, Hapi, TypeScript, MongoDB, Redis, AWS Chime, EC2, ECS, Postgres RDS, Redshift, Lambda, and Kinesis.
